Founded in 2011, the 111Project has helped churches join forces to recruit foster families.  Their aim: Leave no child without a family. The group has made a big difference in Oklahoma by recruiting about 850 foster and adoptive families since 2011. But the need remains great.  Children in the system in Oklahoma now stands at more than 12,000 and is growing. The 111Project believes that churches are the answer to filling the need. If every church recruited just one family, it would then be possible to leave no child without a family.

The 111Project would have you know that there are many ways to help: “Whether you are considering becoming a foster parent, supporting a foster family with your time or other resources, mentoring a foster child, helping to restore a biological family, or volunteering to make a meal, you can make a lasting difference in the life of one of our most vulnerable children and allow them to realize their full potential.”

Their website offers opportunities to start a chapter in your area, to commit your church to helping, to commit your family and to donate funds. Currently in three states, Oklahoma, Florida, and Georgia, 111Project hopes to expand so each of the over 400,000 children in foster care  can receive the love that they deserve.
