20 Powerful Quotes For Life In Foster Care

These are precepts to live by.

Jamie Schwandt August 24, 2017

I recently came across a phenomenal book full of wonderful precepts or rules to live by –  365 Days of Wonder: Mr. Browne’s Book of Precepts by R.J. Palacio. This book provides the reader inspirational quotes for every day of the year.

Palacio comments in the book, “I came across this wonderful line: We carry within us the wonders we seek around us. The beauty and power of that line stopped me cold, for some reason. Maybe it was exactly what I needed to hear at that particular moment in my life, a time when I was racked with indecision.

Life in foster care is extremely challenging. My hope is that these powerful quotes will serve as precepts in the life of a foster child, foster parent, or social worker. I am hoping that these are exactly what they need to hear at this moment in their life.

Moreover, I decided to turn this into a four-part series. This book is full of powerful quotes, for which I could not use them all. I reduced the list from 365 and dwindled it down to my top 80… which is still quite a few. Let’s take a look at the first set.
