She’s 10-years-old and a Girl Scout. Rain Lingers was adopted from a local shelter as an infant, so she never experienced life in foster care. When Rain learned that foster children are given garbage bags to carry their belongings, she protested in the best way. Rain enlisted the leaders and other girls in her Girl’s Scout troop to make a difference. The group raised over $3,000 to make life easier on foster children. They filled nice bags with blankets they made, a flashlight, toiletries, a stuffed animal and a book. Who says one person can’t make a difference? It was Rain’s tender heart that began this mission, and the good hearts of her peers and leaders who helped make it happen.
