George Sanchez was adopted when he was a young child. He passed away suddenly last year, and a biological relative was given the ashes of Sanchez. His ashes were disbursed according to his biological family’s wishes without Sanchez’s wife or his adoptive family having a say in things. They had hoped to give him a proper Catholic burial. Now the adoptive relatives have filed a lawsuit which is asking for George Sanchez’s urn as well as $2,000. Rebecca Gonzales, George’s niece, hopes to bury the urn along with her grandparents, as a way to honor him. They also hope to have him blessed by a priest.
