When Evelyn Pegman and her husband realized they wouldn’t be able to have biological children two years into their marriage, they didn’t give up on sharing the loads of love they had to share. They fostered eighteen babies before adopting any children. Eventually the couple adopted three children, but that didn’t quiet their desire to care for foster children—particularly babies.
Currently caring for foster child #145, Evelyn is prepping the home for child #146. She was told that as long as she passes the health physical, age won’t prevent the system from placing these precious ones in her care. Her oldest foster child is now 50 years old. Evelyn and her husband have been to baptisms, weddings, and celebrations of all sorts. She doesn’t like a quiet home, so Evelyn will continue to offer foster care as long as the state will place children with her!
