9-Year-Old Conner Finds a Family | A Wednesday’s Child Success Story

Conner, 9 years old, is anxiously waiting for adoption day to legally bind him with his forever family. He is very excited to have found a mom, dad, and sister who give him hope for the future.

The family first saw Conner when he was featured in Wednesday’s Child on WFAA Channel 8 in September. His interview took place at the Dallas Zoo. A giraffe followed Conner around as he talked about his past. He acknowledged the neglect in his earlier days, but tried to focus on the positive. He spoke highly of his foster family and his love of God. He said, “When you pray to Him He does what He can, but you have to choose to let Him help you.” He went on to say, “I wish I had a family that loves me and takes care of me.” Now he has found that family, and there’s no looking back. He holds much gratitude for the role his foster family played in his life.

The family sent a thank you letter to the station for airing the initial story. They said they are delighted he has come to be a part of their lives. The group enjoys playing board games together, participating in church activities, and attending sporting events. They attended every Texas Christian University football game of the season. Conner makes good grades and likes to spend time with family, friends, and pets. He loves reading with his mom.

Looking to the future, he says, “One of the things I really want to be is a police officer because they help the community and risk their lives to keep people safe.” Conner’s new family will ensure he has the opportunity to visit with his siblings, who were adopted separately.
