Kristin Chenoweth Hopes To Adopt A Baby

Kristin Chenoweth is hoping to adopt a baby.

In a recent interview with Closer Weekly, the 48-year-old singer-dancer-actress admitted that she’d sacrificed marriage and family in the name of her career. But now? “Now, of course,” she says, “I’m ready for that time to come in my life.”

For those who have followed Chenoweth, this decision is no big surprise. Chenoweth herself was adopted when she was just a few days old, and adoption is something that she has spoken out about on multiple occasions.

As an adopted child, Chenoweth felt cherished and loved by both her birth mother and her adoptive parents. “I can honestly say being adopted was one of the best things to ever happen to me.” She said she viewed adoption as a “full-circle blessing” and went on to say, “In fact, I’ve always felt this deep desire: that if I were to have a baby, I would adopt. That’s the way I would do it, 100 percent.”

Though you may know Chenoweth from her roles in on the television series Glee, Pushing Daisies, and The West Wing, she has also played prominently in Broadway productions. She won a Tony Award for her performance in You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and played the original Glinda in the musical Wicked.
