Family Shares What It’s Like To Foster Older Children

The Crenshaws began adopting through foster care once they were empty nesters. And they express the great reward it is to care for, love, and commit to these children who are in need.

For the Crenshaws, adopting older children meant communicating with them and spending time mentoring and loving. For adoptees, Deonta and Ranija, they admittedly didn’t really want a family when they were first taken in by the Crenshaws. They were withdrawn and not excelling in other areas of their lives. But their gratitude is clear in this video and the Crenshaw family recognized that each one of them has been blessed by adoption of older children.
