She Had a College Degree and a Career – Then Everything Went Wrong

Sherry was well educated with two college degrees. As a social worker, Sherry thought she knew pretty much everything about the pain, suffering, and difficulties of others. But later, life experience taught her that she really didn’t know much at all. When her life began to self-destruct, Sherry, herself, began to understand fear, shame, and hopelessness. Her child was taken from her, and her life was in a downward spiral. Through the consistent support of a good caseworker, Sherry started to lift out of her scary place. “In the end, it isn’t important how many books you’ve read. It’s the condition of your heart that matters,” she tells us. Now Sherry leads groups filled with individuals who are in the shoes she has been in. Because she truly understands, Sherry is helping many to climb out of their own pits.
