The Seventh Day Adventist Church is a Protestant Christian denomination most well-known for it’s sabbath day observance on Saturday, and for it’s focus on the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The church’s worldwide membership is currently about 19.1 million, which is governed by the General Conference, an organization of representatives from local church houses from around the world. The church operates hospitals and clinics, orphanages and children’s homes, schools, publishers, and a worldwide humanitarian relief organization .
Beliefs
The Seventh Day Adventist Church believes in God being infinite and intimate, and claims the Bible to be holy scripture and infallible revelation. The belief focuses on developing and nurturing a relationship with Jesus, learning through the power of the Holy Spirit, supporting each other through life troubles, and spreading the Gospel throughout all the world through missionary work.
The Seventh Day Adventist Church also strongly believes in religious freedom for everyone, and encourages and works with other faiths to advocate for those rights in both national and local governments.
