A Boston couple, Greg and Melanie Magazu have been rejected by the Department of Children and Families to become foster parents. The Magazus have three children of their own. The couple believes in the Bible and interprets verses to support spanking of children. Of course, the spanking is never done in anger and always there is an increase of love shown after spanking takes place. But because they believe in spanking, they have been deemed unfit to be foster parents. The Magazus are taking their request to the state’s highest court. They hope that the court will rule in their favor and that this decision will prompt other Christian families to provide foster homes.
