Ryan Coogler, the talented director of the movie Creed, is now working on a new TV series which will document the lives of kids living in our foster care systems. The TV show Minors has yet to be picked up by a network, but is sure to be fascinating. Coogler is joining forces with Destin Daniel Cretton (Short Term 12) and Chinaka Hodge. Together they will write, produce, and direct the series.

Besides sharing gripping stories, Minors will educate the public on the plight of troubled children and youth who grow up “in the system.” Season One will introduce the effect that institutions have as they “raise” our children who are not growing up in individual homes.

Cretton’s career experience working in residential foster care will help to shape the individual episodes in Season One. Coogler served youth in a detention facility as a counselor and will bring his unique experience and desire to bring awareness as he directs each episode. Hodge has also worked with troubled youth and will bring great experience, coupled with incredible writing, to create the telling of real-life happenings.
