Dear Jane — A Letter to My Birthmother, Jane

Have You Seen This?

Denalee Chapman February 09, 2015

In “Dear Jane,” a brave adoptee shares her feelings for her birth mother in this musical letter.

This adoptee’s loving parents have encouraged her for quite some time to write a letter, but it just didn’t come. So she chose to poignantly express her feelings to her birth mother through a universal language of love — music.

For adoptees of closed adoptions, often a name is all they have. Expression of their feelings through letters and music, even if it never reaches their birth mothers, is an extremely beneficial step in moving forward.
