The group Speak 4 Those Who Can’t share this horror story of a loved little girl who was placed in foster care with a family member. Her life was cut short because of the trauma and abuse inflicted on her. She entered foster care perfectly healthy, but subsequent doctor visits revealed trauma to her body. She eventually died. The perpetrator served less than 3 months in prison for the offense.
Alissa’s story could be the story of many others who are placed in foster care. Speak 4 Those Who Can’t is reaching out to bring awareness to the flaws in screening and monitoring those who should be providing a sanctuary of safety and love for little ones who can’t care for themselves.
