i just wanted to say thanks to you for posting this information. i had read it on this web site a couple months ago and had no idea that you could contact the adoption agency and ask them to contact your birthmother for you.
i have now done that, they have contacted her- it only took them a couple weeks to find her and i am now just waiting for her to make a decision about what she wants to do!
regardless of her decision at least i will know.... i wont have to wonder if she is out there wishing i would find her.
through this i have also found out all the non identifying info that they did not give to me back in 1974 so i now know the reason i was placed for adoption, i know about my bp families and siblings and now know i have 4 half siblings out there.
i just wanted to say thanks for your info!

Just wanted to say thanks for your info on North Dakota's Dept of Human services. I called the number and the manager informed me of birthparents right to request contact of your adoptee through the agency used at the time. The process is in the works so we will see. Seems better than all the money for a person search.
I am trying to reach birthparents or any family. If anyone has phone numbers I can call to avoid paying fees I would greatly appreciate it. I was adopted through Childrens Village. Thanks! My email is b-cown27@msn.com (612) 221-3270 Kyle
Does anyone know if the contact information above is still accurate?
I'm looking for options for a family member born in the early 60's in Fargo, North Dakota.
His birth cert. is simply his name & birthdate from the state of ND, but no other information. Is this common for b/c's out of this state from that time?
Thanks,
Crick
