I see that this forum has been very slow lately. I was wondering if anyone has been concidering adopting from Romania at this time. I recieved an info. packet from agci, and they said that although the moratorium is not officially lifted, they are now placing children under humanitarian appeal by the Romanian government officials. Although I really don't understand all this....I am just wondering if it is more effort and time than it is really worth, atleast for right now. And anything you could inform me on adopting from Romania would be helpful. Especialy anyone that has gone through the adoption themselves.
Such as.....cost? length of process? age of child? the amount of trips? and anything else. Thank-You -Dani
I know of several people who are still waiting---over 2 years---with no end in sight. Romania adoption is VERY uncertain at this time.

We are in the process of adopting a boy and girl from Romania.
We are approx 3 to 5 months away from actually travelling for our children. Our agency has been honest, accessible, and up-front from the beginning. We had an unfortunate thing happen (not the agency's fault) and stayed with them. Within a few months we accepted these two darlings. Can't wait to have them home.
Any questions, please contact me...............I was told by many people prior to our adoption search that "adoption is not for the faint of heart". boy, were they right - but then again, all adoptive parents are quite special people. Happy to be one of them....
Philly,
I am just curious how you know you are going to travel in 3-5 months when there are no new approvals from Romania. They are looking at the draft laws and getting ready to implement them. Just curious what your agency is telling you.
