Alabama adoption requirements

I don't know all the answers, but I live in Shelby County and I started calling around (I am still in research mode). I dont' know about requirements for foster care stuff (which I guess would be similar in adoption through the state), but I think you can get info. and necessary stuff at alabama adoption dot org (all run together and with a (.) instead of the word dot). I did start calling around about homestudies. The cheapest quote I had was $900 and the most expensive was $1200. Alot of the local agencies have homestudy services, even with the understanding that you are not going to "sign" up with them for a placement. I also looked through the yellow pages on-line and found a small agency here in Helena that I think we are going to sign up with in addition to another agency/method.
