I was born August 28, 1955. I was adopted through catholic charities. I do not know what my name was at birth. My mom thinks it might have been Margaret. My birth certificate shows only my adoptive parent's information with my name on it. I wrote catholic charities for information regarding my birth mother and received a packet back which was interesting. Apparently, she was about 18 years of age. She had hopes that the birth father would decide to get married, but when this didn't happen, she went to St. Ann's maternity home, late in her pregnancy. I was adopted shortly after birth. My father was paralyzed from the waist down from WWII. My mother was an army nurse and met him when he was in the hospital after being wounded. They married and adopted two children. Me and my older brother. I have had a good life. I do not want to think of my birth mother trying to get in touch with me and not being able to find me. If you are out there I am willing to meet you.

Looking for others born at St. Ann's Home in St. Louis, MO. What avenues are available to find records about adoptions from there? Any success stories would be much appreciated. I would settle for non-identifying information at this point, just looking for resources. thanks!
