You are getting closer to 40 now. I think you live in Bothell, but on Nov. 11, 1985, you gave birth to my son in Deaconess Hospital in Spokane. His birthfather is Mark, who I believe now lives in Federal Way. It has been more than 20 years since Kyles birth and I often wonder if you still think of him and what thoughts you have if you do. There is much that I would be happy to tell you if I was sure you wished to know. But I do not want to impose anything on you that might prove hurtful to your heart or disruptive to the life you have made for yourself since our lives crossed so anonymously so long ago. I had always told my son that, once he turned 18, I would help him find you if he wished. That day has now passed, and he has yet to take me up on the offer. I donҒt see it as my place to press him on the issue anymore than its my place to press the issue with you. Someday, perhaps, he will decide to seek you out, but for now he seems content with what he has and what he knows. As I said, I have often thought of you as I have watched him grow into a young man. And I have wondered if you might come to a place like this in search of him, just as I have come here in search of you. So this is nothing more than a note in a bottle, Mollie. First, to thank you from the bottom of my heart for the gift you left behind. But more importantly, to let you know that the baby boy you left with a teddy bear is doing well and I think you would be quite pleased and proud of all that he has become. He is smart and strong and he will succeed in life. He is happy, I think, and I know he has a good and decent heart. There is a good deal more to tell, if you wish to know. But perhaps this is all you need. I hope this message finds you well. If there is more that I can do, please let me know.rstrenge@adelphia.net
