Determining if Adopted

[font=Times New Roman]I am trying to determine if I was adopted. I would like to know if a Birth certificate in Michigan will give me an answer. Both of my parents are dead and I am 44. I only have the short birth certificate which basically only has the day. I suspect that my mentally challenged sister is my birth mother. As strange as it sounds I think she believes her child was adopted out of the family and thinks I am her brother, as I have. I could be wrong, but my heart tells me, she is either my birth mother or who raised me as a child.[/font]

I don't know if you can tell by someone's birth certificate or not. It would have your adopted parents name on it. You could always contact the hospital you were born at and ask for your birth records.

Another suggestion would be DNA testing.

My sister and I have just learned that we have a brother that was adopted when he was born. Our parents are not helping us at all. Our dying Uncle told us. Our brother would be 44 yrs old. All we have is pictures of my mother when she was pregnant. We are thinking he was born sometime in 1963, maybe after April. When is your birth date? We are 1/2 Japanese and American Indian.
