Hi I'm just starting this thread so that parents out there can have a list of other forum members who are experiencing the same or similar situations with their kiddos! If you have a child or have had a child with attachment issues please post so other members can turn to you for support, encouragement and friendship during their difficult journey with attachment! There might be a similar post but I did not search through all the RAD/Attachment posts! Tell us how long you have been RAD/Attachment, how old your child is and tell us your story! We cared for a child who was 13 with RAD! We cared for him for 5 months and he was severe and ended up going into in patient care (residential). We have a 9 year old who has RAD (mild/moderate)....so far she is doing well! She requires repeated prompts, reminders of boundaries and space and constant supervision to name a few! Today is good no telling what tomorrow will bring! She has been a member of our family for 9 months. We are discussing adoption but have not made a definite answer yet......we will keep posted!
