I'm wondering if anyone else was finding searching adoptionshop, specifically the bookstore, as frustrating as I have found it.
I do lots of book reviews on both my blogs. When I do a review I try to link it to the bookstore on adoption.com but I find the search mechanism on the site to be really bad. I search a title that I know is on the site and I get nothing - or I get too much. Instead of searching and searching through the 90-some results I get I go to amazon, type in the title, and bam - there's the book.
Then I link to amazon.
I'm sure adoption.com would rather I link to them.
I've been back and forth with the bookstore folks about problems searching for my own book - if I type in my name or the title (any variation, including complete title/subtitle) I get nothing. To find my book (which is the best selling Russian adoption book on Amazon, by the way) you have to go to the adopt Russia section and scroll to the bottom. That part is fine, but I am willing to bet that's why my book doesn't sell very well through adoption.com. Don't you think people should be able to go to the bookstore, type in a title or author, and be sent to the book they need? I just did it for Happy Adoption Day and A Family is Forever (I did reviews of these for this afternoon) and couldn't find the books. I know adoption.com sells those books!
I don't know what I'm expecting by posting this in our bloggers forum, except that maybe if we all are having similar frustrations someone will pay attention. And this isn't just about my book - it's about linking to adoption.com products in my posts. I know I'm supposed to be doing it but frankly, I need to save my time and energy for writing (and obviously, ranting) and not searching for a link that should take 2 seconds.

I need to add - the customer service people at the bookstore on adoption.com have been very pleasant to deal with - but with no results!

I agree that searching the adoptionshop is frustrating. I really hate how the search results are formatted.
Sass, does adoption.com have an "associate" account set up with Amazon? If we cannot find the book on adoptionshop then we can just link it to Amazon.com with the referral code.
