[FONT="Century Gothic"]Hello Everyone!! I'm so excited to find this local forum. I'm hoping to meet others in the area who have adopted, hoping to adopt, or even thinking about it.
A little about myself... My name is Lisa & I am 33yrs old. Married (in Sept) 5yrs to my DH (my soul mate). I have a DS who will be 11yrs old in Nov. & starting the 5th grade this school yr. We've been waiting to be matched with an emom for almost a yr now. We are pursuing an infant/domestic adoption.
I was born in this area, so I've lived in the area mostly all of my life. What do I love about living in this area? You are close to the major cities, but can live just enough away to feel like you're in the country. Also, the change of seasons!! My favorite restaurant of all is the Cheesecake Factory (which I live within 10mins of) :woohoo: I currently do not belong to a support group in my area as there is only 1 group in the area & they are classes that I needed to attend in order to be approved. Nothing to deal with the waiting/emotions couples go thru waiting.
Again...I'm looking forward to meeting others in my area who are in different stages of adoption & looking to make new friends, share our journeys, & support each other.

Hello. I'm an adoptee and an kinship adoptive parent to a 3 year old girl. I have a 14 year old son as well. I've been married for 16 years. My favorite restaurant is Sushi Cafe, but I also eat at Bravo a lot. Never been to the Cheesecake Factory but live 10 minutes away as well!
I am involved in starting up a non-profit agency for helping teens in crisis pregnancy. If anyone knows of anyone looking for services, you can visit the web page at:

Hi Lynard1210,
Sorry, I don't post a lot to the boards, but I guess I should. It's great meeting someone who is a neighbor. That's wonderful that you're involved in helping teens in crisis. Dh & I are still waiting to be matched. Been a long road of ups & downs. I tried to visit the webpage, but the link didn't work.
Have a great day!!
