Now that my son has turned a year old, I am not sure what he should be eating. What does your 12 month old eat in a typical day? :thanks:

H is 18 months now, but at 12 months (and still pretty toothless) his favorites were (and in many cases still are): CheeriosWaffles and pancakesApplesauceBlueberries, cut in halfSticks of organic string cheeseBaby yogurtGrits w/ cheese (Quaker Instant)Boca burgers or fake chicken pattiesMeatloaf (made it in muffin tins and froze them individually)Chicken sausageMorningstar Farms breakfast patties (meatless sausage)Whole wheat pasta, cooked a little softer than al dente w/ a little butter or parmesan cheese --rotini and penne quickly acquired Most Favored Pasta statusPineapplePapayaGreen beans Ice cream (!)Crackers---Annie's Organics Cheddar Bunnies are still the hands down favoriteWhole wheat English muffins or bagelsHummusAvocados/Guacamole (still a HUGE favorite)Mango chunksFish sticks (Ian's Organic)French fries, tater tots (thank you, grandparents)Muffins---almost any kind---which was an easy way to sneak in carrots, zucchini, corn or fruit of any kind. We aren't vegetarian, but I found that a lot of the meat substitute products were a great consistency for the toothless wonder, plus they were nutritionally sound, and more convenient than trying to puree whatever meat we were eating.

Baby girl eats EVERYTHING and only now has 4 teeth. She only gets a bottle once every other day to keep her soothed when I feel she neds it. Otherwise we do a little cup, not a sippy cup, I hold it and she's doing really well. She ate calamari the other day at a restaurant. A typical breakfast is oatmeal, a fruit, small glass of juice or milk. She likes chicken lunchmeat, mac and cheese, various soups, waffles, pancakes, "sunshine" eggs. I steer away from fries or sweets when possible. Yogurt is sweet enough and so are most fruits. I really felt that taking her bottle away would be a bigger deal but she's doing well. I keep it around so as not to cause trauma but that's probably my "thing" instead of hers. I do feel, t hough, that she still needs that sucking and she doesn't like a sippy cup. Oh, she does have a cup with an inserted straw that she really likes also. For treats, they make these puffs and also cheerios or graham crackers. Hope this helps.
