Since Grace will be three at the end of June I guess its time to get her out of the crib -sometimes its so hard to let the baby stages go :) . She will go in to an antique twin size bed that is higher than most traditional beds. Any suggestions on types of bed rails? are they all about the same? Do you recommed putting on two rails or putting one side of the bed against a wall? Thanks!!
I'm not sure the brand of ours but I loved it. It is mesh and was longer then most and it clamped on to the mattress so it was not going to move if/when dd rolled into it. We did have her bed pushed up against the wall.

I've had trouble at my parents' house using the bed pushed against the wall and only one rail, so I plan to buy two whenever we're ready to transition from the crib to big boy bed.
We put two rails on our younger children's beds. We bought the railing online either through Walmart/Sam's or Targets...can't remember which one. They have held up well the last few years. The bottom part tucks under the first mattress as our girls' beds are high. We also bought stepstools placed at the bottom of the beds so that they can walk down and not be jumping off the bed.
Castle will be three in May and is just fixing to move out of the crib also, Mommy's been hanging on to one of those final baby stages  . Anyway I am refinishing an antique full sized bed for her and have bought two bed rails for her since the bed will not be against the wall. We tried to put our oldest sons bed against the wall on one side when he came out of the crib and found that with all the jumping toddlers do the bed would move and he would fall between the bed and wall and get stuck! I like the bed rails I have bought because they fold down flat against the sid of the bed when not in use.
Thanks for all the great advice. Especially the idea about the stool It looks like two rails is the way to go!

OurDream - I'm not sure I've seen that kind of bedrail. Can you tell us what brand they are, or where you've gotten them?
And whoever had the stool idea - GREAT to know!
