Hello ladies,
I am new to this and just getting ready to start our home study. I was wondering how long was your wait for a match? Thanks

What type of adoption are you doing?
I've adopted via foster care and my son was placed in my arms 2 months after I was a certified fost/adopt home.
My daughter was also placed in my arms about 2 months after I submitted my adoption application.
I'm currently waiting to adopt a baby girl from Vietnam and that wait is estimated 7 to 9 months. I'm praying I'll have a referral over the holidays.

Hello ladies, I am new to this and just getting ready to start our home study. I was wondering how long was your wait for a match? Thanks Melanie:
Turned in all our paperwork end of January 2000. A couple weeks later got a call about a baby born 2/14. Paperwork wasn't even approved yet! BMom couldn't choose between us & another couple & asked agency to choose. They choose the other couple who had been waiting a couple weeks longer. That was end of February.
One month later we matched with our DD. Paperwork had to be rushed as BMom was dilated to 3!!! Our DD decided to wait & was born 5 weeks later.
Updated in 12/01. Matched a couple weeks later. Baby boy born a week later. After 2 days with us, his Mother changed her mind.
Called to begin the wait again end of June 2002. Matched July 6th. DD #2 was born July 18th.
Updated again June 2003. Told referral service we didn't want to be shown to any BMom due before end of September. August 8th got a call about baby due end of September. Matched August 25th. Our son was born September 14, 2003! He was our longest wait!
We are a CC couple who had 2 biological children. At the time of our 1st adoption, they were 10 & 12. Our 1st adopted DD is Biracial, 2nd adopted DD is 7/8 AA & 1/8 Japanese, 3rd adoption DS is full AA.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Deb
