It wasn't fancy, it didn't have any super trendy new techniques, and wasn't filled with expensive supplies, but it was a treasure. I was doing an audit and the woman and I were chit chatting (one of the best parts of the job) I mentioned that I scrapbook, and she said she had done a little, loved spending time with her friends, and had put together a book for her husband that he treasured and prized before his death. At first she wasn't going to bring the book out, but then she did. She had her children and neice/nephews each do their own page about them. Each page was sooo unique. One daughter is a nurse and she wrote up her 'bio' right on a hospital order sheet - her own handwriting, and paper that she works on every day! Another is an interior designer and she had her bio with a before and after of a design, sketches, etc. One is a pilot, and he copied a map and wrote places that are part of his life on the map. Another is involved in finance and he copied a Wall Street journal and wrote on that. There were several pages of collage pictures, each had their own flare to them. This woman was so proud of how much this book had touched her husband, before he died, and she was very right to feel that way. Not only had she put together a treasure for him, but she had done an extrodinary job of gathering their families special touches in one place.
