need adoption info

Hi all. I am new to the forum and seeking useful information as to agency, facilitators, and lawyers in the adoption process. I am interested in agencies people have used, their experience with the acency or method used to adopt, the cost of their adoptions, the wait, if they used instate resources or out of state, how out of state adoptions work, etc. I know it is a lot of info to want, I am just finding the research stage frustrating and overwhelming. I though maybe finding out how others went about the process it would help me make decisions. We have not yet done the home study, as I have found our local agencies require that they do the home study if they are used. On a seperate not, we are a biracial couple wanting to adopt AA or BR newborn. We live in Michigan and it appears there aren't any agencies that specialize in AA/BR adoptions. I appreciate any useful responses. Thanks
