Do you mommies carry a diaper bag and a purse?

I have not used a purse since we brought our DD home in 2004. Right now I am using a WIGGLES backpack. You should see people look at me when I don't have the kids with me.:arrow: :arrow: My DS has only been home 1 yr so it will be awhile till I get to use a big girl purse.:eyebrows:

I carry a purse and make DH carry the diaper bag. LOL. Just kidding. (Sort of.) I often have both. It kind of depends on what I'm doing. Sometimes you can leave the diaper bag in the car just in case you need it. But there may be occasions when you end up ditching the much-beloved purse. Frankly it's amazing some of the things that you end up letting go that seemed would be a big deal... LOL.

When DD was younger (she's two now so the diaper bag lives in the car) I just took the diaper bag with purse stuff living in one compartment. But...I'm by no means a purse freak. I do buy nice ones but that's only so have can have just one and have it last for several years.

I carry both. Our diaper bag is big and is for tow babies. I leave it parked every where and would hate to leave my wallet etc. in it. Anna

I carry both! I L O V E my purses!! I have waaay to many! I have a back pack style diaper bag that I wear and that way I can still carry my beloved purses!:love:

I carry a purse when I am not with my DD's. When I am with them on long trips to the zoo or a fair I plop my wallet, cell phone and sunglasses into the diaper bag. However, if I am on short errands to the mall or going out to dinner - I carry both. I am a handbag maniac and cannot live without a purse most of the time. I keep so much in my handbag that I don't want mixed up in the diaper bag. Besides, how could I justify the new Marc Jacobs handbag with dh if I didn't carry it? :eyebrows:

I love purses too!!! But, I'm good at losing things (lol) so I just carry the diaper bag. I have a small wallet that I got in GC and that's in the front pocket. Until my hubby comes home, I'm never without ds, so no reason to switch back and forth yet.

I pack a baby backpack and usually leave it in the car. I carry a big purse with only a few essentials ( diaper, changing pad, wipes, a toy, snacks and a burp cloth ( that doubles as a bib ). Joy

I have a small purse that I carry inside my diaper bag.

I also LOVE purses!!! But, I can't carry both - it would drive me nuts. My diaper bag came with a black "pouch." It's big enough to hold my checkbook, credit/debit cards, pens, personal items ;), etc. I just move it back and forth between the diaper bag and my purse. It works wonderfully!! Kim

I put my wallet in the diaper bag.. I REALLY miss my purses though! A friend and I were out shopping the other day, and I was seriously considering buying the most adorable purse, and then I remembered that it would be years before I'd carry it, so I put it back.. :-( I compensate by having three very cute diaper bags! ;-)

I do both....I feel naked without my purse!!! (Thank God I don't LOOK naked without it....that would be scary for the general population!)Although, I like Robyn's (Lady Tink) idea of putting the purse IN the diaper bag! Cindy

Thanks so much ladies for all the input. I have seen some very cute diaper bags that are more modern than they used to be. I did find one that looks like a purse and has separate compartments for my stuff. I guess I won't be getting that new Kathy Van Zeeland bag I wanted for this fall! LOL
