1.) Information on the agency American Adoptions. If anyone has used them or knows someone who did, I would love a PM with any and all details you are comfortable sharing, or an e-mail at alcallahan@gmail.com.
2.) Also, as more "out in the open" discussion. We know about the Tax Credit thing (~11K) and my husband also can get reimbursement for adoption expenses through his work (even failed adoptions!) up to 3K, so we have a slight cushion on the costs, but can anyone suggest where we can get a loan up front to pay back, since this is all reimbursed? Any suggestions would be wonderful.
3.) I'll cross post this part into foster/adopt if no one here has any info, but has anyone done the foster to adopt process through their state while doing a domestic adoption too? Are there restrictions on that? Can we use the home study that DSS does for our domestic adoption too?
Thanks so much.

MBNA was the first to offer an adoption loan but a number of banks and credit unions now offer lifestyle loans. I went to my credit union a couple of weeks ago and they have lifestyle loans which are for adoption, cosmetic surgery or cosmetic dentistry.
I have done a foster to adopt adoption and a private adoption at the same time. You will have to check with your state & private agency to see if they will allow you to do it. I had a copy of my homestudy sent to my private agency but it was not in the format that the private agency used and had to be converted. The state homestudy is good enough to use for all state adoptions but not for private agency adoption. Once again check with your agencies to find out their requirements.
