We just finalized our daughter's adoption this month and are trying to complete the paperwork for the $2K reimbursement for active duty. Dh said the legal office said we needed to get certified copies of my daughter's adoption decree from the court to submit with the application for reimbursement. I don't understand why they need that. Why can't they accept a notorized copy? Does anyone know the point of contact for this program? I'd really like to talk to the person who handles these requests to find out exactly what we need to do.
Thanks.

I don't know if you ever followed up on this or not, but I just stumbled on your post after having called DFAS yesterday.
DFAS told me they get this call all the time and are trying to get the DD 2675 changed to say a good photocopy where the dates can be read is perfectly acceptable.
The phone number is on page 3 of the DD 2675.
