I was adopted in the Phillipines in Apr.of 1978. I was raised in the states and currently reside in TX. I have my original birth certificate with my birth mothers name age and address at the time of my birth. I would like to find her and maybe through her find my father. If anyone out there can help me find them i sure would appreciate it. i dont even know where to begin. thanks and God bless.

Hi mdnkal,I did a Google search under 'adoption' and 'Philippines' and found several government resources - mainly for placement of children to be adopted. Perhaps these government agencies may know of other resources. Before you embark on your international search, I would recommend that you hook up with a post-adoption support center (I'm not sure if there are in TX) since the search/reunion process can be a real emotional roller coaster. I do know that there is a group called 'Intercountry Adoptee Support Network' (ICASN) and they have listed in the 'resources' section some more resources for Philippine adoptees - eg.
