Here's a hypothetical question...

What would you do if the birth dad committed suicide?

Would you tell the adoptive parents of your child right away or would you wait? How would you tell them? As in would you e-mail them/call them or go see them?

Just thought I'd throw it out there to see what others thought about this kind of situation.

Tell them right away. That is a huge piece of info to hold on to for any length of time.

I'd tell them right away. If they lived near I'd try to do it in person but since they live across the country I would do it by phone.

You say this is hypothetical, what got you thinking about this particular thing? I know sometimes things trigger off some very "different" subjects and questions for me.

I'd call and tell them immediately, although I assume that his parents would do the same. I certainly wouldn't withhold the information though.
