The Adams County Social Services Department is seeking a professional, proactive individual to provide motivation and direct supervision to a professional staff. The candidate will supervise one of our adoption teams. This team is responsible for adoption services to children involved with the agency who are unable to return to their families of birth due to parental inability to safely meet the needs of the children. The unit supervisor will provide immediate supervision and case consultation for team members to assist in making the most appropriate match between adoptive parents and the children waiting for permanent homes. The unit supervisor candidate will also be responsible for training and staff development, some community education, the measurement of program performance standards, planning, monitoring evaluation and accountability. The supervisor will also collaborate with the other adoption team supervisor, as well as other staff within and outside the agency. Essential Duties: -Supervises unit staff including case consultation and monitoring to ensure appropriate case direction and problem solving. -Communicates and represents the permanency section in intra-agency and community meeting in a collateral and professional manner. -Documents weekly supervision of staff and monthly statistics. -Manages the case assignment process. -Audits files and reviewing court reports. -Conducts weekly team meetings. -Performs related duties and responsibilities as required. Requirements: Experience Three years of full time professional social casework experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency in an area appropriate to the position. Training Bachelor's degree in one of the human behavioral science fields. A Masters in a Human Behavioral Science field or a BachelorҒs of Social Work may substitute for all required experience.
