I was born (from what i have always been told) march 15, 1973 may be as late as March 25 as that is when my BC was filed and adopted through Catholic Charities in Tampa FL. Although there is information that it may have been handled through Wilton Manner location and possibly born in Miami area then transfered to Tampa for adoption. Anyway, i have been searching for almost 18 yrs now and i have no new information since i have started. Anyone with any possible information help, etc... , please email me at dina_thom63@yahoo.com
It doesn't sound like you have much information.
Have you registered on the major adoption search pages? Adoption.com has a very good one and so does the ISSR.
First off, have you requested your non identifying information from CC as well as the state where you were born? Although sometimes adoption agencies changed information, I don't believe that state records were messed with too much.
You also have to be firm with CC and demand every non identifying piece of information from your file. They'll still probably only give you a typed up summary but at least you get to make them work and get some satisfaction from being a thorn in their side.
I am not sure about Florida laws but you may try to get your original birth certificate.
As a last resort some use confidential intermediaries. Some states have them and they do the search and legwork with government records as well as your adoption file.
Let me know.

I am registered with FARR and the one in NV and have a letter in with the state and CC allowing anyone looking to obtain my information. I have also registered on countless websites... I have also received my non id from CC - It was a nice typed out summary. I am in the process of having them pull my file again and resend it to me as I lost the intitial on they sent. I have been a thorn on their side since 1999. The lady that has been there this whole time even knows my case even though it has been 2 yrs since last call.
I can not get the original BC with out having the records unsealed. (even if i were to have all of the information)
The nonid from cc stated that I was born here in Tampa FL and adopted through the CC in St. Pete. However, the state had something about the Wilton Manner location... I called them and she said everything was handled out of the St Pete office. SO... I am not sure if that meant I was born in the Miami area and then transfered to the Tampa area. I asked and they said no that the state must have incorrect information.
