Hi folks I used to post on here all the time but got too busy and wandered away. I am now in need of an answer from you smart folks again.
Our foster kids are about to start over night visits. I thought I had read before that we still get paid for the whole month even for the days they are not in our home but their cw when asked today said we can only bill the state for the days they sleep in our home. She is a fabulous cw and I love her to pieces but she often gets info wrong. So anyone know what the correct answer is?
I'm thinking maybe it used to be you got paid for the whole month but it is another one of those budget cut things and now we only get for the nights they sleep here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would think that you can only bill the nites they sleep in your home.. Just like if they went to respite- you wouldn't get paid for the nites they were away. I asked DH & he agrees, this is what we were told in training when we learned to fill out the paperwork to start billing the state.. Maybe someone else will have another opinion but that's what I'd do.

When our kids did overnights and we asked the same question we got the same answer. On the other hand we were told that they are still in our care at that time and the beds could not be filled so it should be a billable night. We didn't invoice for the nights which makes doing the invoice a lot of fun breaking up the dates.

Finally got the confirmation email. No one knew the answer it kept going higher up the chain. Got the email today from
cw said yes you all are correct (as usual) we do bill until they are officially returned home full time. Good to know if I had listened to her we would have been out 4 nights a week of money that we are allowed to have. That money will go along way in helping us prepare for the new kids once these go home.
Thanks again for you all being so smart!
