I Had a PM and Now I Don't! Where'd It Go!?

If you got a notification that you had a Private Message, yet when you go to your Inbox, the message is gone - don't fret! A spammer joined the site and sent out 8 Private Messages (I can only see numbers, not actual content or who they went to) - and one of our users let me know right away - so using an "admin tool" I have, I removed all of the sent messages the user sent, then banned them. I want to make sure I make this perfectly clear - because of past accusations: We can not, will not and do not have access to your actual private messages - we have access to statistics - I can look at an account and tell you how many PM's you have in what folder - but beyond that, I have no actual access (nor do I want it). Regardless of what someone might think - we don't sit around and read PM's - no one ever wants to believe that their online 'friend' forwarded a message to a moderator - but I'm here to tell ya, every single time we've ever taken any action at all as a result of Private Messages - it's been because the message was forwarded to us. I feel like I need to make those specific points perfectly clear - because there is always someone making that crazy accusation - because from what I understand, this was general practice on other communities (but it is not here).
