My name is Natalia and I am 15 years old. I am also 18 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend Shane and I have decided on adoption. We know we don't want a closed adoption but we can't decide if a semi-open or open adoption would be better. We have found our family and they are willing to do either. We really don't know what is best though. Would it be too confusing for our child to have us visiting as they grow up?

If you should decide that adoption is the best decision in your situation, I would advise an open adoption. I am an aparent of 2 children with completely open adoptions. No confusion whatsoever, I can ssure you. They know their stories, they know their history, they know their sibling, and best of all they know their first family. They have never, not even once been the slightest bit confused - and they are currently 8 and 5.
Personally, I couldn't imagine it any other way.
Good luck to you, and remember that whatever your plans are at this point - they could change. You will have to remake your decision once the baby is born and is no longer just an abstract thought.
