Youre talking about Kinship care

Here's something about SC specific kinship care:

We're doing something similiar, except we got involved after DCYF pulled the child. We work through the DCYF in her state
We had to do a ICPC (interstate compact) which is the agreement between both states to move a kid into a new jurisdiction

I have a cousin wanting to adopt her baby out and we offered to adopt the baby she said yes what is the process that we would have to go through? I am from CA and my cousin is from OR.
Thanks for the help.
You follow the laws in her state.
It would be considered a domestic adoption, which wold require an icpc as you are crossing state lines.
I would suggest finding a lawyer in her state who specializes in adoptions. hey will help the process
actually (and this is why you need a lawyer) according to an oregon goverment web site, you wouldn't need an icpc.. but that doesn't wound right.
