I was just wondering, for those of you who are adopting/have adopted through Foster Care, how long after receiving your Foster License did you receive your first phone call about a potential match?

We had calls about kids even before we got our license, but the first kids we took were about 2 weeks after the license came. In my state there isn't a matching process. The CW gets a list of kids who need homes and they call telling you about a possible placement and you can say yes or no. We adopted our second placement who came to us at 18 months old.

Thank you both for sharing! We just received our license about two weeks ago and are on pins and needles waiting for our first call! We are working through a private agency. Did you work through an agency or through your state directly?

We had our first call yesterday! Unfortunately, not the right child, but we are so excited that someone considered us! Can't wait for the next call!
