Good Morning,
My husband and I were just matched with a Emom who is due in November and we will have to travel by plane, so I wanted to know if anyone could recommend any arilines that had an adoption fare program or who were adoption friendly??
Thanks,
Heather

Thanks for responding to my post. Do you know which airlines might be more flexible for domestic adoption travel, such as last minute flights or waving fees for changes in flights??
We flew Southwest. It was very easy to book a flight only hours before we flew. They charge seperately for to and from flights, so we only bought oneway. Also, there flights seem to be around the same time everyday, so I knew exactly when the flight was leaving. It also helps that they do not charge baggage fees.
On the way back we flew American because it was a direct flight, which was nice when you are flying with a newborn.
Good Luck with everything in hopes that November comes quick!!!
If you do fly Southwest (or any other airline) you're going to need a doctor's note that the baby is able to fly. Long story, but we called Southwest and were told we didn't need one, then almost got arrested when we tried to fly home. Spiffy.

Thanks Robyn! I actually read that on the Southwest website. It says a baby under 2 weeks old must have a note to fly. So I thought I would ask the dr who discharges the baby to write us a note to cover our bases.

Yes, they do say that now. I think it might have something to do with the complaint we lodged back in 2006.
At least we may have helped others...
