Ok,
I am considering 3 country for my adoption.
choice #1 Bulgaria
choice#2 Russia
choice # 3 Ukraine
Could someone , PLEASE, tell me if Ukraine is ok for sinlge mother to adopt a child.
Some websites says " single mothers are ok" others says " only married couples..."
Which one is it?
Is there any single mother that child adopted from Ukraine?
I really would like to know. I was born and raised in Ukraine, and this would become my # 1 country of choice, if single mother could adopt there...:grr:
Per the State Department website, you need to be married to adopt from Ukraine.
Sorry. :(

It is the country's choice. Sometimes agencies will say that you must be married, but it is their choice. So I'd say if you find that it is ok, it probably is. But you must know that you will find it difficult to get a young healthy child. We have pretty much eliminated Ukraine after research and more research. Good luck and God bless you.
My best friend adopted twin eight year olds three years ago. She is now looking to place one of the twins for adoption again since she is displaying upsetting behaviors such as hurting their cats and bullying kids at school. I wouldn't recommend adopting from the Ukraine to anyone!
Unfortunately, Ukraine does not accept single parent adoptions at this time. You are required to be married. Ukraine used to accept single parent adoptions until 2007My husband and I have adopted an older child from Ukraine. Feel free to e-mail me privately if you wish to discuss. betty_cojac@hotmail.com
