My DH and I are both CC and we have one biological daughter. We are pursuing adoption and we are open to a child of any race. We have discussed this with our dd (she's 4), and honestly she doesn't seem to really care about race at all. I could retell several stories, but at this point in her life she still seems relatively "color-blind." I want to prepare her as much as possible though.
We read a lot with her and I am wondering if there are any children's books that you all would recommend that could help prepare her for a sibling of a different race. We try to read books that include other cultures all the time, but I'm looking for particular books about transracial adoption. tia
I do not have books focused on the sibling aspect of your question, but here are my 4 year old son's favorite books about being brown (in order of his preference):
The Colors of Us
Brown Like Me
We're Different, We're the Same
I Dont Have Your Eyes
Brown is Black is Tan
Brown Like Me and I Dont Have Your Eyes are more transracial adoption focused (but written from the point of view of the adopted child) whereas the others focused on being comfortable with skin color. Happy reading!

A Mother for Choco is good to show that actions and love are what make a mom - not that she looks like her children.
Also Rosie's Adoption Story is another one about animals, (a beagle adopted by schnauzers) but the point is there and it works for any race of adopted child and any race of family. It would be very applicable to your family because in the book there is one biological child (ok puppy) and one adopted. It's a good book for bringing up a lot of questions in an everyday, no-stress kind of way.
