It's not necessary to whisper!

UGH! This happened late last week and I'm still aggravated. I was at work and in a meeting when a woman started describing an older case...it was about an adoptive family and how the child they adopt was (((hushed whispers))) "black". By the 4th time she whispered the kid was black I finally looked at her and said "You do know that I'm a white mom with a black baby right? And it's OKAY to say black." I was so aggravated as if it was made the story 10x worse that the child was black and why must she whisper black?? She didn't whisper "adopted" Sorry vent over!
