I was wondering if there have ever been any successful petitions or lawsuits forcing the uncensored unsealing of adoption records of an individual in Ontario.
Where would I find this info? I heard happens from time to time in the United States, but have heard nothing about this route in Ontario.
Thanks.
Ontario changed their laws - all you need to do is submit a request - providing no veto has been placed by your mother or father of birth.
Kind regards,
Dickons

All information is now available. When the law first became legal it was advertised for people to write or fill out forms to NOT have their information available. If the person birth parent does not veto or adoptee does not veto, either has the legal right under provincial law to access this information. No legal ground for a law issue.
