NC Adoption & MAPP Training

My husband and I are interested in adopting from the Foster Care system in NC. We found a little girl we have fallen in love with, however, we have been told that we have to have the required home study as well as MAPP training which could take 2-4 months to complete. We were also told not to get our hopes up because this little girl would probably not be available by the time we completed all of the training. My question is this: does anyone know if it is possible to complete the home study requirement and then attend the MAPP training concurrently with the required trial period while the child is placed in your home? I know this question is very specific but any information would be appreciated.
