We recently started our foster/adopt process with Alameda County Social Services. Since our goal is to adopt, should we being doing this process through AASK (home builders, A better way) or similar non profit agency?
Or can we do our licensing through alameda county social services and still use AASK (or similar) for placement?
I have heard the non profit agencies can find a fit for us with many counties as opposed to Social Services. Is this true?
Any insight will be greatly appreciated!
I'm not in your county, so I can't give you a definitive answer as to what you should do. We are with an agency, and do have looked at placements from other counties. As luck would have it, both our kids are from the same county. If I had lived in this county at the we started the process, I would have gone with the county. Since we lived just outside, in a smaller county, we would have never gotten a placement without the agency.
