Hi All -
I have a question regarding Subsidized child care in Sacramento County. IF you live here the agency i went through is Child Action. Apparently they are a research & referral agency. Well from what they tell me--that a foster child does not qualify for services because they dont meet the financial need or criteria. The Criteria being homeless - indanger of being homeless - or endangered.
Has anyone in the state of california ever had this happen to them? My husband is the primary care taker - and the childcare was to help give him a break for a few hours a day to allow him to clean house - and begin to attend school.
My foster kids school adminstrator states that this doesnt seem right for the agency to deny the children access to child care as I see fit. She mentioned something about a title 5 determining this situation?
I guess the other question would be-- are foster & adoptive children entitled to receive subsidized child care or is that a cost that will/should be incurred by the foster parents?
Please help.
thanks!!
