Hello!
My husband and I are waiting to be placed with a child in Alameda County. Is anyone else working with this County? Looking to connect and share experiences.
We started the process in August and approved Dec 1, was a nice b-day gift :) We are looking for 0-2, any nationality, open to drug exposure.
If anyone has experience..I am very curious on how long it took for you to get a call. I know the times will vary..just curious :)
I wish you all luck!

I think your wait will depend upon your level of risk. A friend of ours went through PRIDE the same time we did but they were only open to no risk. They were matched with a 22 month old girl a year after PRIDE classes. Another family was open to some risk and were placed with an infant 3 months after PRIDE. A relative entered the picture at some point, but in the end the biological family stepped aside.
We were open to some risk. We were placed with a 3-month of old beautiful boy 1 month after PRIDE/Licensing... The courts decided to grant the biological mother reunification services so it was a long process. At the end of the two years, our little one was placed into his birth mother's care. During the time we were placed with safe surrender that didn't work out in our favor and after that we received a call from the adoptions unit for a 2 1/2 year old girl. We finalized her adoption in September, a year after she was placed with us.
We wish you a short wait and look forward to hearing how your family grows.
