OT: Mypage question - what are "referrals"?

Below the number of posts on our Mypage, there is a heading entitled Referrals and I just wondered what that was all about? Most people seem to have zero but others have 1 or more (including myself) so wondered what that meant?

Thanks for that link. However, I don't recall having ever invited anyone to a.com as such, maybe that is why I am confused. Is it possible to do so without knowing that I've done so (hope that made sense lol)?

People can also list who referred them to the site when they register for an account. If you talked about a.com with others, and they joined based on that, they might list you as a referral. (as an example)
